WHAT WE DO

1. Membership Assistance

CATA exists as a Muslim association, whose members contribute through regular membership fees, Sadaqah money, and Zakat, all of which aid one another during times of emergency. CATA’s primary focus is the enhancement of fund support for the Cambodian Muslim community, human resource development, the community economy, humanitarian aid, and advocacy on all aspects of the Cambodian Muslim community. 

Term of Membership

  • All members must be 6-60 years old and living in the Kingdom of Cambodia with birth certificate, ID card, family book and clear residence book.
  • All members who distribute with us must pay a member contribution of $25.00 or 100,000.00 Riels per year.

Benefits: Individual and Family 

  • Receive social protection (accidental death or permanent disablement and Illness death) by providing a subsidy of 20,000,000.00 Riels to all members.
  • Receive allowances upon expiration of membership (retirement) at age 60 and determine the allowance based on the number of years all members have participated.
  • Children of all members will possibly receive scholarships and job opportunities during the study period.

Benefits: Community

  • Provide social protection to members of the entire community.
  • Promote education (scholarship), professional skills on the job (capacity building) and job opportunities (job).
  • Support and promote the better implementation of religious law in society, develop the principles of Zakat and increase humanitarian activities (charity) as well as good governance with leaders at all levels.
  • Gather and develop the business sector (business) to accelerate the economy in the Muslim community.

 

2. Human Resource Development 

  • Organize vocational training programs and workshops to enhance the skills and employability of community members including training in areas such as healthcare, entrepreneurship, technology, and traditional crafts.
  • Partner with local educational institutions, NGOs, or vocational training centers to provide scholarships, grants, or apprenticeship opportunities for community members to pursue higher education or gain practical skills.

 

3. Community Economic Development

  • Support micro-enterprises and small businesses within the community by providing access to financial resources, business mentorship, and networking opportunities.
  • Foster entrepreneurship by organizing business plan competitions, seed funding initiatives, or crowdfunding campaigns to help community members start or expand their businesses.

 

4. Humanitarian Aid Promoting 

  • Collaborate with local and international humanitarian organizations to provide emergency relief assistance during natural disasters, conflicts, or other crises distributing essential supplies, providing shelter, and supporting the rebuilding process.
  • Raise awareness about the challenges faced by the Cambodian Islamic community and advocate for their rights and well-being through public awareness campaigns, educational events, and media engagements.

 

5. Seek Support and Cooperation

CATA’s commitment to “Seek Support and Cooperation” signifies their proactive approach to building strong relationships and partnerships. This goal likely encompasses several key activities:

  • Collaboration: CATA will actively seek collaboration with other organizations, government agencies, and individuals who share their goals. This could involve forming partnerships to tackle complex issues, share resources and expertise, or leverage each other’s networks.

  • Fundraising: CATA might actively seek funding to support its initiatives. This could involve grant proposals, fundraising events, or corporate sponsorships.
